Publicatie jaar: 2010

Objective
This study was set up at the college of Arnhem and Nijmegen as an impact study, to observe the effect of Curetape for a proprioception problem with soccer players suffering from knee injuries.
The aim of this study is to demonstrate the effect of Curetape on a specific knee coordination problem caused by a rupture of ligament cruciatum anterius, ligament collaterale mediale and medial meniscus also known as “unhappy Triad”.

Method
A total of 15 test people were randomly placed in a intervention group and a control group. These groups were trialled four times – the baseline measurement (T0), after the intervention (T1), 20 minutes after the intervention (T2) and 6 days after the baseline measurement (T3). The measurement device was the MFT – S3 – Check. The outcome was analyzed for significance with the analysis programme SPSS 17.00.

Results
The data analysis revealed significant results in the intervention and control groups and in each of the experimental series – Stability Left/Right, Forward/Backward and Sensomotoric Left/Right, Forward/Backward.

Conclusion
The study did not show any significant effect on proprioception problem caused by a rupture of ligament cruciatum anterius, ligament collaterale mediale and medial meniscus or “unhappy Triad”, associated with Curetape. In the intervention groups, – Left/Right- Forward/Backward- Stability – a tendency to improvement can be seen.
